FAQ

Lack of sleep may often cause in babies hyperarousal, increased irritability and difficulties with breastfeeding. Chronic sleep deprivation for mom’s can affect her mood, irritability, impatience and milk supply and quality. Through the process of sleep training, babies will learn to fall asleep independently and their sleep will become regular, improved and longer-lasting. Numerous studies have confirmed the importance of good sleep hygiene for babies’ health. During sleep, growth hormones are secreted, immune system is being repaired, brain is developing… Improved sleep leads to the improvement of child’s mood, productivity and focus.

It’s never too early or too late to establish good and healthy sleep habits for your baby.

You should decide when you and your family are most comfortable to go through with the training.

All babies are different. Some babies are naturally great sleepers while others will simply get older and learn to sleep on their own over time. Also, all moms and their circumstances are different. We believe that moms always know what is best for their child and we fully support this. We recommend sleep training only to families who feel that their health and quality of life is declining due to accumulated sleep debt.

The reason why our program is different is because it’s clear, simple, and easy to follow. Plus, it allows parents to choose the approach based on their child’s temperament and personality. Our team is with you every step of the way during the program, which often provides parents with additional comfort.

No. The “cry-it-out” method works like this: Step 1: Put child to bed. Step 2: Walk away. Step 3: Let child scream, cry, howl etc. until child is asleep.

Now, while the CIO may work for some, most parents simply aren’t comfortable with it. We don’t believe a parent’s brain is “designed” to listen to the hysterical crying of their child without doing something to comfort them!

Our approach is much more flexible and gentler on both the parent and the child. We will hear out what you are and what you are not comfortable with and based on that information we will develop a personalized sleeping plan for your child.

You should make peace with the fact that your child will probably cry during the process, especially the first few days. After all, babies love to know what’s coming next, and they will protest when their routine is being changed.

If you already know that you simply cannot (or will not) tolerate ANY amount of crying (not even for a minute or two), then our program may not be the best choice for you.

Of course. We fully support breastfeeding! Having a baby sleep well will actually improve breastfeeding relationship.

We advise parents to have a baby sleep in a separate room if that is possible, as this will make training easier and faster. However, if you’re sharing a room with your child, a great strategy is to set up a partition or divider of some kind between you and your child for the first little while (this can be as simple as hanging a sheet over a clothesline). Once your child is sleeping well through the night, you can remove the divider if you wish.

Absolutely! it’s 100% doable! Just be ready this might require a bit more of determination and organization from both you and us.

If your baby gets sick before the start of the program, we will wait for her to start feeling better as we want this process to be as gentle as possible for your baby and you. In case your baby becomes sick during the program, we will discuss how serious the condition is, and depending on what phase of training you are in, we will make certain modifications and continue. As for teething during training, it certainly might cause discomfort in sleep, but it is not something that we won’t be able to work through.

We suggest that you start the training when you know that you will be at home for the entire duration, and for at least another week after the training, in order for the new habit to prevail. We want the whole process to be as gentle as possible and not cause any additional adaptation, so it is very important that the baby is in a familiar environment while mastering new skills.

There are many excellent books that cover this topic. We can recommend a few! However, books do not take into consideration your personal situation. It is particularly important to us to work closely with the families, as this allows us to prepare a program that corresponds to your upbringing style and also takes into account the needs of your child based on their age, development and routine.
